Overview of the Non-Surgical Vampire-Facelift® (PRP Facelift)
A Vampire-Facelift®, or PRP Facelift, is a non-surgical procedure that rejuvenates your facial skin using injections of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and hyaluronic acid filler. The treatment leverages your own blood’s growth factors to enhance skin texture, brightness, and firmness. The procedure, lasting 1 to 2 hours, offers immediate and noticeable improvements without the need for surgery.
What is a Vampire-Facelift®?
A Vampire-Facelift® rejuvenates your facial skin by injecting PRP and hyaluronic acid filler. PRP, derived from your blood, stimulates new skin cell growth, collagen production, and increased elasticity, resulting in brighter, smoother, and plumper skin.
What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?
PRP is the portion of your blood that contains growth factors and platelets. It is collected by drawing your blood and using a centrifuge to separate it into different components. The PRP is then extracted and injected into your face to promote healing and rejuvenation.
Benefits of a Vampire-Facelift®
A Vampire-Facelift® offers numerous benefits including improved skin texture, reduced wrinkles, increased skin firmness, and diminished acne scars. The procedure is less painful, has a shorter recovery time than traditional facelifts, and presents fewer risks.
Differences Between a Vampire Facelift and a Vampire Facial
A Vampire-Facelift® combines PRP injections with hyaluronic acid filler to address deeper skin concerns, while a Vampire-Facial® uses PRP applied over the skin and micro needling to treat surface issues like fine lines, large pores, and pigmentation.
Preparing for a Vampire-Facelift®
Before the procedure, you will have a consultation to discuss your health history and goals. If you’re a good candidate, your provider will give you specific instructions such as avoiding sun exposure and blood thinners, staying hydrated, and arriving with clean skin.
During and After the Procedure
The procedure involves numbing your face, drawing and processing your blood, and injecting the PRP and filler into your skin. Afterward, you may experience mild discomfort and bruising, but you can usually return to your normal activities immediately with proper aftercare, such as avoiding sun exposure and strenuous exercise.
Risks and Recovery
Side effects are typically minimal, including swelling and mild pain. Serious complications are rare but can include reactions to the filler or improper injection techniques. Recovery time is short, with results visible immediately and lasting up to 18 months.
